CONGRATS!! You have been randomly selected as the WINNER! Please email hello@shiragill.com with the Subject SUBSTACK WINNER to coordinate delivery of your care package!!
I will not say "yes" to every little ask if it is going to interfere with my holiday enjoyment. Also, specifically for Anne, I packaged some holiday decorations that I felt guilty about parting with because they were given to me by my parents, and off to Goodwill they went! (My dear husband got them out of the house before I could change my mind.)
I will not spend more than my pre-set budget per kid out of guilt because the items they want are expensive and small and the gifts will look small out of worry for what others will think.
Not going into overspend mode which always stresses me out come January when I have to “rein it at all in” again. Also, not drinking this holiday season for the first time! Woot!
I will not decorate every little place in my home. Less is better. Also, I WILL be donating excess holiday decorations to Goodwill this week!

I will not feel pressured to keep up traditions that stress me out.
amen to this!!!
I love this. We are what we allow and that includes being a slave to our traditions.
I have Christmas decorations stored in plastic bins. Any decorations that I do not love, or do not even display this Christmas will be donated.
That’s mine too. If I don’t use it, it gets donated instead of stored in the garage again!
I will not compare my family to other families and instead will focus energy on what makes the holidays special to my family.
Ooh such a good one! x
I will not participate in useless gifting only donations to charities that have meaning for me.
Brilliant. I love this one! x
I will not make buying gifts, decorating, or attending events more important than being kind to my family.
I will not waste time thinking of a thing to buy someone just because a list told me to! I will find a more meaningful way
I will not hold onto expectations of what I “think” others want or expect of me during this season which always results in extra stress and anxiety.
I will not drink only eggnog for the entire month like it is its own food group 😂.
I’m also making hand-making ornaments with the kids instead of buying any new ones, they are more special anyway!
HA! Love these. x

I will not try to please everyone this holiday season. Only saying yes to the things that really light me up!

1. I will not sit after 10pm watching YouTube/Instagram/Facebook reels.
2. I will not purchase anything - thru any medium - grocery included for four days in a week.
3. I will not consume animal products have milk or eggs or meat or use leather/silk on Tuesdays and Fridays.
All from today. It's powerful to say will not for 4 days instead of will do only for 3 days... Thank you.

I will not impose rigid schedules on my family on Christmas Day and instead see where the day takes us!
I won’t buy any new clothes for myself and my kids until I sell/donate/recycle the pile I’ve set aside but haven’t gotten around to tackling yet.
