I have a similar set up for what toiletries I bring but hadn’t thought about the coconut oil - I’ll have to start doing that! I need to go through my travel accessories and purge though. I keep saying I’ll do it before my next trip and I haven’t yet. I have too many little bags to store extras but don’t end up using most of them. I also keep eyeing the Cadence set but haven’t taken the plunge yet so I’m reusing little sample containers but had one filled with conditioner (our budget European hotels in a recent 12-day student trip didn’t provide conditioner and the shampoo was really just body wash) break after the first flight so I had to deal with that mess while at the gate for the 2nd flight. Probably time to invest in better gear!

Question: Do you use the coconut oil for removing mascara or just for the face?

Thanks

Tubing Mascara is the best for travel. I especially love the Beauty Pie version. I usually decant my toiletries into travel size reusable containers for economical reasons. The mini/travel sizes are pricey even though convenient plus I'm not certain of their recyclability.

I have been in an intense stretch of work travel this spring. A game changer for me was having a separate toiletry bag that I could just leave in mg carry-on suitcase) without having to unpack/repack it for each trip). It had all of my essentials and I didn’t have to worry about forgetting anything. Upon my return, I also immediately washed and repacked the essentials (the pajamas I packed for every trip, etc). Then the only net new items I was adding for each trip were my specific work outfits for that week. It made the process of packing (and unpacking, and packing again…) much easier.

These are such great ideas, I was trying to think of what I could possibly add. Then I remembered I really love using a customizeable makeup palette. They are so thin and can hold all my makeup (different brands and sizes) without any of the packaging bulk. Mine (old Makeup Forever) can fit 4-5 eyeshadows and a blush in a case that's about the size of an index card. There are a ton of other brands like MAC . It's a bit more effort to depot the tin but I found the method using a warm iron quite easy (lots of youtube vids). I also place a folded kleenex inside while traveling to help cushion it from any bumps.

The minimalist approach is an inspiration for me but when toiletry is concerned, forget it! I wear contact lenses, so I carry the case, the cleaner, my glasses and their case. And because contact lenses are tough on the eyes, if I leave for a longer trip, I'll carry drops and a spare pair. Since I don't like using hotel products, I switched to bars for shampoo, soap and sunscreen. Takes less space, works perfectly and I can carry them with me in the plane if I wish.
