I've been saving all my daughter's poster-sized painted creations from preschool this year and I am READY to dazzle everyone who gets a wrapped gift from me!!
This is the first year I'm not simplifying. Generally I show up empty handed at a friend's house for a few hours of dinner, laughs, and Yahtzee. This year is my godsons' first Christmas. Needless to say I went a little mad. 25 books, pull toys, stuffed dinosaurs, twin organic cotton sweaters (See's chocolate for great-grandma). Oh the fun. Not so much the empty pockets, but there's only 1 first Christmas. Two weeks following is first birthday at which I get to repeat!
I decided not to send out Christmas cards this year. I’m hoping I can do something digital but haven’t figured out exactly what that looks like yet? With the Forever Stamp, it’s hard to know how much postage is now days and to find out it’s .73 cents now, also contributed to my decision!
Oh wow!! I had NO idea postage was .73 cents! I have a friend who sends a video greeting every year and know a lot of people do an email with photos and updates from the year - lots of creative options!
I'm always on a quest to simplify things and this year I'm focused on things in the kitchen. We are an ingredient household at it is, but there is still nothing scarier than a gluten free, dairy free dinner guest. This year I'm working on organizing my recipes to make it easier for the rest of my life.
Hi Shira! Great job on GMA, you looked beautiful! I had an aha moment when I was in the mall on Black Friday. I had purchased what I went to get and although every store had 50% off, I just walked out thinking, I don't need anything, I don't even want anything. I have Enough! It was so freeing, not to have to feel compelled to go into all those stores and spend money! And this is from a former shopaholic! Thank you for your amazing books, which have helped me to reach this moment!

LOL. Love this!!
Loved your statement: connection not perfection. I will try to keep this in mind not just during this hectic season but into 2025.
Yay, happy holidays!!
Congratulations on the GMA appearance and the new book!
Thank you - so fun to meet you in NYC!!
Yes, fantastic to meet you IRL!
