Delightful organizing porn! Thanks for all the recs, including things we already own. Very fun!

I went to a hotel in NYC this winter that was somewhat mediocre EXCEPT! It had almost a whole wall of hooks in my room. Probably at least 10. I was hanging up coats, scarves, shopping bags, hats, purse. SO GLORIOUS! Putting hooks everywhere in hotels and rental houses seems incredibly obvious to me and yet! Why so rare!?! Hooks can be a cute design element too, like shaker pegs or some brass situation. I'm very pro-hook. Hooks for everyone, everywhere

I recently started using the IKEA glass pop top bottles for all of my 'bulk' spices (my husband is Indian) - they work so well, and have a wide enough mouth that you can actually put a spoon inside. It's the Korken line.

Also, if you're looking for a bulk amount of glass jars / bottles, check out ULINE! They're an industrial supply company but I find they often have terrific prices!!!

Love, love wooden hangers! Despite the organizational disaster that is my wardrobe at the moment (I realize I can't ignore it forever!!) all my items that need hanging are on wooden hangers and it just looks cleaner and more uniform.

Great solutions and recommendations! Where do you store your bulk pantry items?

Shira Gill's avatar

We have 2x bigger glass jars for flour and sugar - don't have space to store bulky pantry items so we just replenish as needed! xx

the glass jars in your kitchen are sooo cute

Is there a glass jar any of you recommend for frozen/fridge storage? I just reuse jars from food products but the lids get gross over time.

We just use mason jars xx

Very helpful thank you!!

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for good label maker or labels? I looked online and was a bit overwhelmed at the 1) options 2) price point for some of them.

I recently did a quick sort in a very useful closet and used post it notes to identify what was in each section - and boy did my brain find that easier. So I think I'm coming into believing in labels for easy organizing, even though I live by myself and the only one putting in the wrong spot is me!! lol - I just don't want to waste the energy trying to figure it out each time.

I've had the same p-touch label maker for my entire career but it's a little office stock room vibes - for more elevated labels for every room in the home my go to is Paper and Pear - a lovely family run company in the midwest. Linked here! https://paperandpear.com/

I'm also a big fan of getting Avery stickers that I can pop in my printer! They make them in all sorts of shapes now!

Sturdy shoe boxes work great for storing art supplies. I tend towards a certain brand—the plus being matching boxes!

Shoe box /lids or stationery card boxes work well for drawer organizers (only tip I noticed that didn’t have a use-what-you-have option)

storing your linen and sheets in a canvas bag seems like a no brainer after I read your tip, how have I not thought of this!? Thanks for the tip, I'm always wrestling with the folded pile!
