A Moment to Pause
I’ve rewritten this post twelve times.
In the wake of the continued violence, terror, and brutality in the middle east, it’s felt impossible to share anything that doesn’t feel trivial or trite. I’ve decided to pause my normal content this week.
I’m reaching out to my friends whose lives are in imminent danger, I’m holding my loved ones extra close, I’m taking time to grieve for all of the lives lost, and I’m keeping in my thoughts all those who are scared and suffering right now - whose old wounds and traumas are being ripped back open.
The horrors of violence and war can feel paralyzing, especially when we are far away - physically disconnected. I’ve been reflecting on the luxury I have to make my kids pancakes and send them off to school while other families are huddled in bomb shelters or fleeing their homes.
What I hope for most is that one day we will commit to seeing the humanity in each other, that we can hold each other with empathy, kindness, and grace, and move forward towards a peaceful future for ourselves and for our children.
Please take care of yourselves, and of each other. I will be back soon. xoxo
